Training
Visiting aircraft wishing to conduct training at St Athan require an airspace brief by Air Traffic Control before commencing any training details. Contact St Athan ATC 01446 243940.
All aircraft wishing to carry out instrument training within the Cardiff Zone, must have a functioning transponder with Mode C.
Instrument training including practice diversions (PDs) is subject to PPR by contacting stathan.ops@cwl.aero.
The booking of training slots is the responsibility of aircraft operators who should do so by telephoning Cardiff ATC (the approach radar unit).

Operating outside of these hours is possible, however, requests must be received no less than 48 hours prior to the requirement.

IFR & VFR Traffic permitted.
Radio
Aircraft must have a radio to be permitted to fly into St Athan Aerodrome.
The St Athan Tower frequency is 122.865MHz
The Airfield Fire Team, provide RFFS CAT 4 during published operating hours, however, this can be raised to CAT 5, 6, 7 by request, with no less than 48 hours-notice
Jet A1 & Avgas fuels are available.
